Hello! My name is Jordan - currently living in Berlin, previously in New York City, Philly, Miami, Paris, Bremen, and Nice. My university studies are currently on hold, until I transfer to a uni here in Berlin (studying computer science, formerly at Jacobs University (now Constructor University) in Bremen, Germany).
I currently work as a backend developer on the Payments and Authorization team at Marley Spoon. Our tech stack includes Ruby on Rails, Sidekiq, Postgres, Redis, GraphQL, and Kafka. It has been an enriching and eye-opening experience so far, I learn more and more each day!
My career goals are kind of unknown at the moment. Currently I really enjoy (mostly the idea) of creating developer tooling but past that I have no idea what I'll do.
Like most people, I have ideas for and start many projects (like this website). Hopefully writing about them will push me to actually finish some of the other ones.
If you're someone looking to possibly hire me for an internship or job, (thank you!) here is my LinkedIn and my resume.
Currently open projects
- jwav - a
.wav
visualizer using zig and raylib (just started procrastination project) - zxd - an
xxd
clone written in zig (in the optimization phase, unfortunately) - zbg - a backgammon engine and API written in zig (paused for now)
- Death is a Blessing - a game concept, just exploring (paused for now)
Wishlist projects
- IRC server (and eventually client) written in zig
- Could even be fun to add features on top, like voice chat, if that's at all possible 👀
- Would really need to consider this though, because building an IM and VoIP platform would kind of f*cking suck
- onvim - my own gh-codespaces on my vps, utilizing my own nvim config and crun containers
- Kindle portable library - a small kindle app that starts a webserver to share books currently on my kindle
- TUI or Qt based music tracker
- Sometime later leverage
zxd
to create a hex editor, with TUI
Recently closed projects
Both of these were done kind of poorly, and need to be both refactored and written about here
